3 MAIN was the winner of the Metropolitan Redux competition (September 2009) at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. The competition reward includes a trip to Glasgow, Scotland to be part of an international design competition held by Mackintosh School of Architecture. The project is a mixed use building in downtown Champaign, IL. It is surrounded by both commercial and residential buildings on a main street corner. Inside the building, there is a restaurant and a Trader Joe’s grocery store on the main level. On the second level, there is commercial space, and above that is residential space along with meeting areas, such as the large interior atrium and rooftop garden.
